Scholarship Details
With the assistance of our sponsors,
The Arkansas River Basin Water Forum offers two scholarships each year to
graduate students in order to support their education and research in
water resources. The amounts of the scholarship awards for 2010 are $1500 (First Place) and $500 (Second Place).
The requirements of the scholarship are as follows:
Eligibility: Applicant must currently be enrolled as a graduate student in a field relating to water resources management (e.g., water law, limnology, hydrology, water resources engineering) at a university or college in the state of Colorado. Applicant must possess a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Hometown: Applicant must have received their high school diploma from a high school located within the Arkansas River basin. If you are not sure whether your high school is located in the basin, please contact Dr. Perry Cabot at the address below.
Application: Materials to be submitted for consideration of the scholarship are:
- Transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions;
- Two letters of reference from supervisors or professors who are familiar with you education and character;
- Statement of purpose not to exceed 5000 words describing how your graduate program will benefit water resources management in the State of Colorado and/or the Arkansas River Basin.
Deadline: Application materials should be submitted by March 29, 2010.
